To my readers:
This is my first attempt at posting my BLOG. Let me tell you a bit about myself, in a very precise piece.
I’m almost there in terms of being at the standard retirement age – I hope you know what that age is. I came into Real Estate on the 2nd of May 1984 and have not strayed from this career path is almost thirty six years. Gosh, I do sometimes hope, in the current circumstances that I should never have stayed in this sector for so long, or even started a business, but hindsight is a mirage of a mistress who will turn you into salt, if you look back too often. I’m not an engineer or an architect or anything technical, just a Commerce graduate who had fire in his belly. My first job was with Southern Investments ( Si) and I was with them for almost ten years, starting in Madras ( yeah I prefer calling that beautiful city Madras) and then moving over to Bangalore. I then headed Puravankara and was the CEO of Prestige Estates, as a thirty four year old guy. After four years I went to Muscat in the Sultanate of Oman, where I headed the property and construction divisions of W J Towell. InΒ September / October 2002 I returned to start Value Designbuild Pvt. Ltd. ( VDB). I will talk more about Real Estate and my journey through that and my greatest disappointment as an employee – when Scotts India, an arm of Scotts Holdings of Singapore, where I worked, collapsed.
Real Estate is going through the horrors and this is possibly the best time to talk about my career, my mistakes, my achievements in the form of advice I can share with the next generation. Whether I see through this phase only time will tell. Whatever it is, the ride has been bumpy and pleasurable, one after the other and maybe one after many other. God has been kind to me. The world has changed, and so must we all along with Real Estate in India.
More in a while…

Is this gonna be like a suspense serial ? π When would be the next write up ? Make it quick and continuous for an interesting read without irregular breaks.
Oh no, not a story as fact is mostly stranger than fiction. Do wait. There is quite a bit coming up…
